RECENT PROJECTS

I have been working on few custom projects for various people.

These are for a rehearsal dinner and wedding.

They have been fun to do.

NEW FOB

I guess I don't have to say that I am really way behind with all my crafts. I'm sure my lack of posts speaks louder than words. I did manage to make a new fob yesterday. I decided to make a Christmas-related one a little early, at least for me. I have painted a few things, not for sale, but custom orders. After a few finishing touches, I'll post pictures of these.

CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT

It's really hot here in Alabama and very dry from lack of rain.
I thought I would paint a Christmas ornament and just
maybe the temperature would cool off just
a little.  Well, you guessed it, it is still hot and dry.
It was 97 degrees today and is to get increasingly hotter
each day this week and stay hot next week.
Here is the ornament minus the wire hanger that I haven't made yet.

WIP PICTURE

Well, haven't accomplished much, but it is some.  This is the Lizzie Kate

NEW SCISSOR FOB

I made several new scissor fobs for my Etsy shop a few weeks ago.
After I made this one, I liked it so much, and realized it would
match my Gingher Cheetah scissors, that I had
to make one for myself.
After clipping it on my scissors, I was really pleased
with it.

difficult ones.  A lot of the
Lizzie Kate designs have always appealed
to me.  I'm finally taking the time to do some of them.

Tangle.  I love the saying especially during the holidays when we all
get to going in too many directions.
I have not decided how I will have it finished. I may frame it or
 have it done a different way.

NEW HOBBY

I have a new hobby thanks to several ladies at church.  I am learning to make greeting cards.  We have had fun being together and I am enjoying doing it on my own at home also.  Check back later for some pictures.  Maybe tonight but it might be tomorrow evening.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE....

Well, it has been a while, hasn't it?  I do have a new work in progress that I need to post a picture of.  I will try to do that later tonight.  It has been a fun piece to stitch and has a story behind it.  I started it while we were without power for five days after the tornadoes came through Alabama.  I needed something to do at night so I started this piece and was actually stitching with two book lights to see by.  I clipped one to my shirt so it would shine on my fabric and clipped one to the chart so I could see it.  It kept me from be totally bored!  Check back after while for a picture.

WIP NEW UPDATE

I thought I would post new pictures of my two

cross stitch works in progress.
I have made some progress especially considering
I have not really had much time to work on them.
Anyway, here they are!

MY CORNER OF THE SUN ROOM

We bought a couple of new to us pieces of furniture for the "white bedroom" as we call it.  So, we had to move out my least favorite piece in the room.  The base is a small desk with a vanity-type mirror attached to it.  I took the mirror off and moved the desk to the sun room.  It looks great in there because it is white

and the walls are chocolate.  It is going to be my desk for making cards (a new

endeavor I am undertaking).

Here's the desk moved into the sun room.  Looks great against brown wall, I think!

This is the picture that will be hung over the desk, tonight I hope.  Still looking good!

Added a new tape dispenser in pink and a pencil cup that is really a 

votive candle holder.  It is cut glass and cheaper

than the real pencil cups they had and much

prettier.  I'll post more pictures after 

the picture is hung.

COMING SOON TO ETSY

This will be a custom order sign in my Etsy Shop soon.  I painted this one for myself to match some bins that I already have in the laundry room.

Lots of possibilities with this one.  Various color choices, distressed edges, the whole sign could be distressed.  Thanks for looking.

How cute are these!  Use them as a decoration for a nursery, a baby shower, daycare, etc. 

These are wooden first painted pink then crackled with white on top.  Letters are hand painted pink not stenciled.  Hangers are made of pink sheer ribbon with a bow at the top.  See these in my Etsy shop at

WEDDING GIFT

I have been wanting to try this plaque for some time now.  Other people on Etsy sell these and variations of them and they do very well.  I do not have access to a way to make stencils nor am I a very good stenciller.  I guess I should look for stenciling classes!  Others use vinyl letters.  Both ways make beautiful plaques.  I decided to give it a try.  I really thought it would be going in the trash at the beginning, but I managed to work through it and neaten it up.  Here is the final product.

NEW FOBS

I finally managed to get some new fobs made to list in my fob store on Etsy.  The link to both Etsy stores are on the right hand side of the page.

Here is the first one.

The next one is Sunbonnet and is done in sapphire blue and aqua blue.  I couldn't get the blues to show up true to color.  It is really prettier than the picture.

And, the last one is really cute.  Who could refuse this cute monkey face.  I think I'll have to make one of these for myself.
